  • Never, never, never give up.

                                                                                                 -Winston Churchill

But you say let it go

    You say let it go

    You say life is waiting

for the ones who lose control

    You say you will be

    everything I need

You say if I lose my life

its there I’ll find my soul

    You say let it go.

                                                                          -Tenth Avenue North

Letting go has always been almost impossible for me. I usually end up getting it ripped from my grasping hands by sheer force, while I fight it with everything in me…go through the process of realizing I’m not in control at ALL no matter how much I think I am, then coming to grips with the fact that letting go isn’t so bad after all, then I accept it eventually. Such a looong, unecessary process, right? By the time I come to the place where I can actually let go, it’s usually gone anyway…but you know, letting go is still worth it. I just have to wonder why it always takes me such a long time to figure that out. Like…how come am I so stupid? Or it just stubborness?

Is it that I don’t trust God? Hm. I suppose I don’t. Not enough. Maybe that’s what it all boils down to. In my mind I feel horrible for even admitting that. He’s GOD. The God that created the universe. The God that holds me when I cry. The God that loves me…enough to die for me… He’s won my trust time and again…when it’s the LAST thing he has to do! How can I hold back? How is it possible for me to deny him ANYTHING?

And so I let go. I surrender. Release. Because I love him. Because there’s no other way to live.

So tell me, my dear people. Which quote do you like best?

      Why?

  • Maybe I’m confused but personally I like the quote by Winston Churchill, cause we have more of a say in our future than some people like to think.  and generally the people who say we don’t have much control are the people who don’t want to take responsibility for their actions (or need an excuse). Not to say God doesn’t have control, but because God gives us the chances to make choices in every aspect of our lives (Maybe I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s almost biblical). Because he gives you the opportunity to make choices (and make our own course) he gives you the chance to show people you CHOOSE to make the “right” choice, and your not some unrelatable robot.

I mean who am I to talk about this stuff, but just a thought I had.

  • Wow. You have this uncanny way of writing my thoughts…so much better than I can even express them! God has been bringing me to that very same place this past week…and is still working on me…I suppose He shall continue for a long time…the rest of my life, right?=) And as far as the quotes, I actually like both of them the best! I guess because at different times in my life I’ve been at both places…if that makes any sense?…  Beautiful pic, btw!!

  • @wudjago - hey…I just got home and was gonna fix this post somehow cuz I knew it was pretty much all wrong. I love what you said. It’s not right to blame God for stuff we do…or even for the pain we experience…but that’s a whole different subject I would love to discuss with you!! What you said about God giving us the opportunity to make choices is so true…and yes. We’re NOT unrelatable robots!!=) I think that’s one of the things God hates most. When humans bring religion into their lives in a way that they become robots. God wants a RELATIONSHIP, he’s not some kind of Being that wants to control us. But there’s also surrender. I mean, there’s choices too, but sometimes you CHOOSE to give in to God.

I think I was kinda going half way here…because I seem to be letting go and not giving up at the same time…which might sound confusing. You should see, no tenes ni IDEA cuanto te quiero hablar acerca de esto…orita…

But anyway, just agreeing with you here.=)

    me.

  • @maripositas313 - ¿Usted no tiene la menor idea cómo curiouse que soy. tiene algo que ver con algo que debo saber?

  • @maripositas313 - Oh and I totally respect what you said!

  • I know what you mean about letting go. It’s been one of the hardest things to do, when it seems like it should be the easiest, right? Because all you have to do is release your fingers and let go whatever you’re holding onto!
But knowing that it’s hard, and knowing God’s proved Himself to you, over and over-it’s a good place to be. It’s a place God can work in. He doesn’t need the ‘strong’ people, He needs the weak-who know their need-because THEN God can work in His full strength and power.
My favorite quote…not sure of one, but this one seems to fit!
    LET GO AND LET GOD.
    :)

  • p.s. not sure if I understood the quote bit-so if you were asking which one I liked best about the page, I’d say..I love the second, but prefer the first…because love never gives up, and God is love-meaning He’ll never give up on His children.

  • @nvrenufcoffee - I’m glad i can do that for you…I have a feeling that if we’d ever get together we’d have some awesome talks. We seems to be on the same page most of the time…can’t wait till that time…even though it might be a while yet…=)

Oh and thanks bout the pic…glad you like it.

    me.

  • @wudjago - Solo es que hay tantas cosas que te quisiera contar and it builds up till I feel like I’m gonna blow…pero voy a aguantar…y por mientras, te puedo escribir, no?=) Y algun dia…but yeah.

I respect what you said too…I think we’re coming from two different places…from different points of view, kinda…but it all adds to the big picture of what truth is all about…if that makes any sense.=)

    Have a great day!

    me.

  • @calledN2life - Ha yeah…the whole quote bit was a little weird…and I thought about fixing it all, but decided against it and just left it now…cuz I wanted feedback from people…so yeah.

Oh and I love your quote too…very very true and good.=)

    I love you!!=)

    me.

  • @maripositas313 - Si solo, escriba por arita…..

ha yea there isn’t enough space in these comment boxes to sum up what we mean, it can be a complicated subject  I suppose!

    have a “stupéfiant” week!:]

  • I love the thoughts on letting go.  I find it rather fascinating that releasing my ideas to a God that I recognize as far superior even to my capacity of thought can be so hard to do initially.  But the freedom and sheer ecstacy that results from simply yielding to One Who loves me like He does cannot even be imagined beforehand.  Makes me realize that the one who tried his best to make my dreams and wishes look so right and good and even very necessary… was so ruthless about it because he knew all along what an incomprehensible world of beautiful possibilites in God awaited me beyond surrender.

I love you, sis.  I’m praying for you.

  • @pdweaver - Wow. Leeny…love every word you wrote there. So true. So amazingly true. Thanks!=)

    Te amo…thanks for the prayers…

    me.

Thanks for the comment…and the nice things you said about me.;)
